Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 25, 1989 at Monroe Evangelical Free Church north of Murphy. Interment was held in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Evelyn Guyer

Evelyn Muriel Marie Guyer, the daughter of Charles and Sophia (Johnson) Anderson, was born north of Holdrege, Nebraska, on February 15, 1909, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 23, 1989, at the age of 80 years, 6 months, and 8 days.

She attended elementary school at Ash Grove School in Phelps County, and was a 1925 graduated of Holdrege High School. She graduated from Hastings College in 1929. Then she began an eighteen year teaching career in several Nebraska towns.

In 1942, she was united in marriage to H. Burman Guyer, at Atlanta, Georgia. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1964.

Later, she resumed teaching for 10 years near and in Lexington.

In September of 1970, she suffered a stroke and has lived at the Memorial Community Care unit of the Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Orlo and Reuben Anderson, and 2 sisters, Junetta Hendricks and Edith Hendricks.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Marla Reiter of Funk, Nebraska and Janna Peyton of El Centro, California; 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Joel Reiter, and 3 step-grandchildren, David, Paul and Greta Reiter.
