Melvin HadenfeldtFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 14, 1983 at the Evangelical Free Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Melvin Hadenfeldt Melvin LaVern Hadenfeldt, the son of Walter and Albie (Bachkora) Hadenfeldt, was born at Poole, Nebraska, on October 28, 1922, and died suddenly at his home in Aurora, Nebraska, on February 10, 1983, at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 12 days. He attended school in Ravenna and on October 11, 1944, he was united in marriage to Mamie Meaders at Las Vegas, Nevada. Melvin was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. In 1936 he enlisted in the Civil Conservation services, and in 1943 he enlisted in the Merchant Marines and served with the U.S.A.T. Service in both the Atlantic and Pacific until his discharge in January of 1946. From 1947 to 1957 he was the owner and operator of a café and service station in Odessa, Nebraska. From 1957 to 1963 he was district manager for MFA Insurance Company in Kearney and Aurora. He was appointed to State Farm Insurance Company in Aurora in October 1963 until present. He was a member of Life Insurance Association of Nebraska, and a member of the Presidents Club with State Farm. Mel was presented many awards and high honors of achievement during his 20 years of service with State Farm. His parents had preceded him in death. Those who survive to cherish his memory are his wife Mamie; 6 sons, Michael with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, California; Marvin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mark of Central City, Marlin of Plattsmouth, Merlin with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Virginia and Morris, a student at the University of Lincoln; one daughter Mrs. Marcia Spiehs of Phillips; one brother Don Hadenfeldt of Burlington, Iowa; 2 sisters, Lucille Hadenfeldt and Eldine Dove, both of Lincoln; 6 grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends and business associates. |
