Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 10, 1996 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Gene Hagemeister

Gene Robert Hagemeister, the son of August and Maggie (Hinton) Hagemeister, was born near Giltner, Nebraska, on November 30, 1926, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on June 6, 1996, at the age of 69 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

He grew up and received his education in the Phillips area, and graduated from Phillips High School. Following graduation he helped his father on the family farm.

He served his country during World War 2, in the United States Army, from May 7, 1945, until his discharge on November 10, 1946.

On March 14, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lillian Dunham at Giltner. They farmed near Marquette until 1960, when they moved to a farm near Hampton. In 1985, they retired and moved to York. Lillian preceded him in death on April 18, 1987.

Gene was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Heart of America Edsel Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers, Orvis and Glen, and 2 sisters, Lorena Eicker, and Ruby Forte.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Rodney and his wife Michelle of Brady, 2 daughters, Nancy Biltoft and her husband Chuck of Bloomington, and Karen Sekora and her husband Ron of Hastings; 2 brothers, Ervin of North Bend, Oregon, and August of Phillips; one sister Doris Iliff of Aurora, and 7 grandchildren.
