Ronald Hagemeister

Ron Hagemeister, age 43, of Phillips, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 4th at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Rev. Marta Wheeler will officiate. Interment will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Ronald Hagemeister, the son of August and Elizabeth (Niedfelt) Hagemeister, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on February 7, 1964 and died in Norfolk, Nebraska on July 30, 2007, at the age of 43.

He grew up on a farm near Phillips. Ron graduated from Aurora High School in 1982. He married Cheryl Griess on June 21, 1986 at the Federated Church in Sutton. They lived in Grand Island after their marriage. They were blessed with two children. They moved to Phillips in 1997. Ron was employed at Americold Logistics for 21 years. He enjoyed every minute with his family and friends. Ron loved racing lawn mowers, watching NASCAR, “tinkering” in his garage and attending car races. He also enjoyed going to auctions and garage sales.

Ron left suddenly after suffering a severe heart attack. He leaves behind many loved ones, friends and their beloved dog, Ruby. Many others will live on from the donation of his organs.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Cheryl originally of Sutton; two children, son, Kyle August (19) and daughter, Kayla Lynn (14) both at home; parents, Augie and Liz Hagemeister of Phillips; brother, Michael (Sally) Hagemeister of Arlington; sister, Debra (Jason) Galindo of Lincoln; and nieces and nephew, Madison and Mackenzie Hagemeister and Geoffrey and Isabella Galindo.
