Metta HahnFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 13, 1987 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Metta Hahn Metta Emma Hahn, the daughter of Dietrich and Wilemina Schwick Baack, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on October 24, 1900. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 9, 1987, at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 15 days. Her entire lifetime has been spent in Hamilton and Polk Counties in Nebraska. She received her education in the Zion Lutheran School near Hampton. At an early age, she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. On February 15, 1922 she was united in marriage to Leo E. Hahn at Hampton. They farmed in Polk County, Nebraska until the early 1930’s when they moved to Hampton. There were five sons and one daughter born to them. From 1941 to 1967 she served as custodian at the Hampton City Auditorium. Her husband preceded her in death on May 22, 1960. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Carl, John and Martin Baack and two sisters Marie Ramprath and Louise Baack. Those who remain to cherish her memory are five sons, Howard, Kenneth and Rodger Hahn all of Hampton; Marshall Hahn of Westbury, N.Y. and Dwight Hahn of Ft. Washington, Maryland; one daughter Mrs. Ramona Hillman of Syracuse, Nebraska; two brothers, Herbert Baack of Philemoth, Oregon and Barthold Baack of York; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends. |
