Hugo Handrup

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 22, 1984 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Hugo A. Handrup

Hugo A. Handrup, the son of William and Elsie Alfsen Handrup, was born November 29, 1927 in Cedar Falls, Iowa and passed away September 19, 1984, at the age of 56 years, 9 months and 21 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Bethelhem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He attended grade school and high school in Cedar Falls. After high school Hugo enlisted into the Navy where he served three years. He then returned home and attended college fore two years at Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa.

On June 10, 1949, he was united in marriage to Barbara Mae Hermansen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg, Nebraska. To this union four children were born: Paula Handrup of Arlington, Texas, Barry Handrup of Marquette, Mrs. Vicki Stuhr of Lincoln and Kirk Handrup of Aurora.

They made their home in Kronborg and in 1960 they moved to Aurora, where they owned Handrup Shoe Store. In 1978 Hugo became employed by First Federal York until his retirement in the Spring of 1984. He was active with the Kronborg Lutheran Church, Rotary, past president of Chamber of Commerce, Aurora County Club, member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Elks, Aurora Planning Commission and enjoyed numerous sports.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Natalie Morgan, Mrs. Cordel Kofron and Mrs. Viola Bruhn, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
