Grace Hanke

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 26, 1987 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Grace Mildred Hanke

Grace Mildred Hanke, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Ida (Robinson) Hanke, was born at Beatrice, Nebraska, on December 20, 1907, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on August 22, 1987, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

She was raised in Beatrice, and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1925. She had been a member of the Vesper Chapter #9, Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, at Beatrice.

In 1948 she moved to Aurora, and was employed as a Business manager and accountant for Grasshans International Harvester for 26 years. In 1974 she retired from full time work, but continued to work part time for Art Grosshans.

Grace was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora, and had served as treasurer for 8 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Mary Elizabeth Hanke, 2 brothers, Willard and Clarence Hanke, and a nephew John Hanke.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her sister, Lucille Hanke of Aurora, one brother Luther Hanke of Auburn, California; one nephew Robert Hanke of Yuba City, California, one niece Mary Monteaux of Ellsworth, Maine; 2 great-nephews, 3 grand nephews, 2 grand nieces and many cousins, and other relatives and friends.
