Funeral Services were held 4:00 P.M., Saturday, March 4, 1995 at the Higby Mortuary Chapel. Interment was held at the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Dorothy Hansen

Dorothy Clare Hansen, the daughter of Ora and Kathryn (Kinner) McConaughey, was born near Stockham, Nebraska, on October 3, 1904, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 1, 1995, at the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 28 days.

She grew up and attended Badge grade school near Stockham, and after the family moved to Aurora, she graduated from Aurora High School. Following graduation, she was employed at the Hamilton Telephone Company until her marriage.

On November 28, 1928, she was united in marriage to Herluf Hansen, at Kearney, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on February 29, 1988. She lived her entire lifetime in Hamilton County. She was a homemaker and also worked in the County Assessor’s office before retiring.

Dorothy was a 70 year member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ, and belonged to the Community Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Jacqueline Ediger, 3 brothers, Lyle, Myrl, and her twin Don McConaughey, a sister Laurine Kuhn, one grandson and one great grandson.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Robert of Marquette, one daughter Kathryn Arlene Bayne and her husband Gary of Aurora, one brother O.V. “Vern” McConaughey of Aurora; 9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
