Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 3, 1996 at the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Mabel Hansen
Mabel Marie Hansen, the daughter of John and Hilda (Isaacson) Jones, was born at Marquette, Nebraska, on October 8, 1909, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 29, 1996, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 21 days.
She grew up near Hordville, where she attended country school, and later started high school in Central City. When her family moved to Aurora she attended and graduated from Aurora High School. She was employed at the Einer Peterson Clothing Store following graduation.
On June 14, 1934, she was united in marriage to John A. Hansen, at Aurora. After their marriage they lived in Murphy until 1941, when they moved to Aurora, where she has since resided. John preceded her in death on January 24, 1975.
Mabel was a very active member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ, and the women’s groups. She was also a member of the Happy Hour Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, Arthur, Paul, Harry, and Wallace, and 2 sisters, Frances Jones, and Dora Petersen.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Stephens and his wife Evelyn of Glendale, Arizona, and Mark and his wife Teri of Las Vegas, Neveda, and 4 grandchildren, Kristine and John Hansen, and Kim and Kari Sky Hansen.
