Yrsa Hansen

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 25, 1994 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Yrsa Hansen

Yrsa Andrea Hansen, the daughter of Lewis H. and Inger (Frank) Hansen, was born near Aurora, Nebraska, on July 26, 1899, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 21, 1994, at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 25 days.

She grew up and attended District #8, grade school, graduated from Aurora High School, and in 1927, graduated from the University of Nebraska, with a Bachelors degree in Arts in Sciences. She also attended Peru State College. After teaching a few years at Hampton, Battle Creek, and the Dakin Country School northwest of Aurora, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Lab Technician School. After graduation, she returned to Aurora and served as a technician at the Steenburg hospital. Later she returned to teaching in the Aurora Grade Schools. After retirement, she continued her work for the Republican Party and was involved in her church at Kronborg. For the past several years she has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Yrsa was a long time and faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the Aurora Chapter of the Eastern Star, belonged to the Republican Women, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers, Bernhardt, Walter, Verner, Harold, George, and Herluf; and 3 sisters, Thyra Feddersen, Rigmor Nielsen and Agnes Dyer.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hansen and Esther Hansen and several nieces and nephews.
