Carold HansonCarold Hanson, age 84, of Giltner, died Monday Morning in the Community Care Center at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday Afternoon at the Giltner United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Brian will officiate. Interment will be in the Giltner Cemetery. OBITUARY: Carold Hanson Carold Curtis Hanson, the son of Andrew and Edith (Mostrom) Hanson, was born at Spencer, Nebraska, on October 10, 1910, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 13, 1995, at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 3 days. He grew up at Spencer, where he attended school. He was a mechanic in Spencer and Naper. On June 2, 1940, he was united in marriage to hazel McDuffee, at Spencer. After their marriage they moved to Naper. He served his country during World War 2, from December 1942, until his discharge in November of 1945. After his discharge, he returned to Spencer and worked as a mechanic. In 1949, they moved to Giltner, where he owned and operated a service station, and later worked at the Giltner Co-op. On October 11, 1993, he entered the Memorial Community Care Center at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Carold was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church, belonged to the Doniphan American Legion, the Giltner Lions Club and Fire Department, and served on the town board and the Giltner School Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Guy and Maynard. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Hazel of Giltner; 3 daughter, Jeanie Fink and her husband Mike of Battle Creek, Jane Smith and her husband Dave of Giltner, and Cheryl Collinson and her husband Mike of Doniphan; 3 sisters, Madeline Barber of Alabama, Francis Bouma of Groveland, California, and Violet Nyberg of Osceola; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. |
