Donald P. Hanson

Donald P. Hanson, age 82, of Aurora, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Memorial Community Care.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 15th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Dr. F. Cole Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: DONALD P. HANSON

Donald Paul Hanson, the son of Paul and Julia (Shaneyfelt) Hanson, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on August 23, 1926 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on May 12, 2009, at the age of 82.

He grew up on the family farm north of Aurora. Donald graduated from Aurora High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1947. Donald attended College at Kearney for one year.

On June 22, 1951, he was united in marriage to Pat Beacom at Aurora. Donald farmed and was a rural mail carrier for the Aurora Post Office for 44 years.

Donald was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing, but especially loved his children and grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pat of Aurora; two sons, Todd (Marlene) Hanson and Mike (Telo) Hanson all of Aurora; 6 grandchildren, Tiffany (Ryan) Hagler, Jonathan Hanson and fiancé Danielle Johnson, Micah (Jennifer) Hanson, Luke Hanson, Keenan and Krystah Hanson and great-grandson, Jericho Hagler. He is also survived by a brother, Maylon (Karen) Hanson of Grand Island.
