Irene Harling

Irene Harling, age 82, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday morning, April 11, 2001 at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Rev. Monty Nelson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M., Friday at Higby Mortuary, with the family receiving friends between 3 and 5 P.M. OBITUARY: IRENE HARLING

Irene Harling, the daughter of Thomas and Golda (Bergin) Nielsen, was born in Cordova, Nebraska on July 20, 1918 and died in Fairmont, Nebraska on April 11, 2001, at the age of 82 years.

She attended grade school and graduated from Exeter High School.

Irene was united in marriage to Lewis C. Harling on September 4, 1937 at Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived in the communities of Fairmont, Exeter, Geneva and Aurora while Lewis worked for The Gas Company. Irene worked for several retail stores over the years. She moved to Hearthstone in York in February of 1996. Irene spent the last year in Fairview Manor in Fairmont.

Irene was a member of the Presbyterian U.C.C. of Aurora, T.O.P.S. and Quilters Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Kathy Jones and a brother, Earl Nielsen.

She is survived by her son, Tom Harling and his wife Eleanor of Fairbury; daughter, Bette McConaughey and her husband Tom of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren, Nick Harling and his wife Laurel of Falls City, Mike Harling and his wife Tracy of North Platte, Troy McConaughey and Marni of Atlanta, Georgia and Staci Chloupek and her husband Gary of Lincoln; 5 great-grandchildren, Trevor and Mitchell Harling and Cody, Gillian and Kayla Chloupek.
