Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 2, 1985 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Julia Harney

Julia (Sandberg) Harney, the daughter of Carl and Charlotte (Maas) Hjalm, was born at Balka Nutje in Smoland, Sweden, on February 20, 1889, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 29, 1985, at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 9 days.

She came to the United States as a young woman and joined her 3 brothers and a sister on a farm near Marquette.

On December 8, 1917, she was united in marriage to Oscar Harney, at Aurora. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1983.

They farmed in Hamilton County until their retirement to Aurora in 1958. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 1982.

Julia was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Hilma, Anna and Esther and 3 brothers, Ed, Henry and Axel.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 children, Lucille Pipher of Omaha, Donald Harney of Marquette and Doris Ehn of Central City; one sister Marie Osborn of Salt Lake City, Utah; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.
