Mark Harris

Mark Harris, age 48, of Aurora died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Memorial Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 9th at Assembly of God Church. Rev. James Garfield will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the mortuary. OBITUARY: MARK HARRIS

Mark Allen Harris, the son of George and Ruth (Bahn) Harris, was born at Grand Island, Nebraska on August 18, 1960 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on May 6, 2009, at the age of 48.

Mark graduated from Marquette High School in 1978. He worked at Wortman’s during high school and after. Mark worked at Aurora Meat Block for over 12 years. On February 24, 2008, he was united in marriage to Anita Stringham.

He enjoyed playing golf and had organized last years Auroran days golf tournament. Mark was a past member of the Aurora Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katy Harris; mother, Ruth Harris (2005); brother, Gordon Harris and his grandfathers, Ivan Harris and Rolland Bahn, grandmothers, Lelia Mierau and Lulu Harris and step-grandfather, Herman Mierau; step-grandmother, Maelee Mertsching.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Anita of Aurora; step-children, Jessica Anderson of Phillips, Lisa Stringham and Melanie Stringham both of Aurora and Gabriel McLamb of Grand Island; 7 step-grandchildren; brother, Dana Harris of St. Libory; two sisters, Barb (Dan) Pinkelman of Aurora and Kim Harris of Enid, Oklahoma; father, George Harris of St. Libory; step-grandfather, Lewis Coleman of Lewiston, Idaho; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
