Maude HarrodFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 1, 1983 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery. OBITUARY: Maude Harrod Maude Harrod, the daughter of James R. and Harriett Anne Harvison Barrard, was born at Whiting, Iowa, on July 12, 1882, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 29, 1983, at the age of 100 years, 8 months and 17 days. As a young girl she moved to Trenton, Nebraska, where she attended school, later moving to Edgar and Doniphan. On July 31, 1911, she was united in marriage to Charles Harrod, at Grand Island, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1949. After he marriage they moved to Giltner, where she resided until entering the Hamilton Manor in Aurora in the summer of 1977. She was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America, and was a 50 year member of the Phillips Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, May Harrod, Mrs. Josephine Felton and Mrs. Harriet Meyers. Three brothers, Thomas in infancy, Harry and George. One infant daughter Marie. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter Mrs. Genevieve Lombardo of Grand Island, two brothers, William Ballard of Puyallup, Washington and James Ballard of Burwell, Nebraska. Three grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. |
