Frances Haskins

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 8, 1985 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Frances Haskins

Frances Evelyn Haskins, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Jazwiec) Sleva, was born at Tarnov, Nebraska, on September 29, 1911, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 5, 1985, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 6 days.

She grew up and attended school near Fullerton.

On June 5, 1929, she was united in marriage to Claude A. Haskins, at Hastings, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1980.

They lived near Fullerton until moving to Columbus after retirement. She worked for the city schools in Columbus and after her husband’s death she moved to Aurora where she has since resided.

Frances was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and belonged to St. Mary’s Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, one brother and one great-grandchild.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Clyde of Aurora, a daughter Evelyn Matthiessen of Grand Island; 2 brothers, Frank Sleva of Columbus and Eddie Sleva of Omaha; 5 sisters, Cecelia Loveless of Columbus, Dorothy Drvol of Los Angeles, California, Rosie Knopik of Omaha, Sophie Smith of Primrose and Julia Fredricks of East Liverpool, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and other relatives and close friends.
