Eva HaworthFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 27, 1993 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Eva Haworth Eva Edith Haworth, the daughter of Jehu and Bessie (Anderson) Embree, was born at Syracuse, Nebraska, on March 18, 1892, and died at York, Nebraska, on July 23, 1993, at the age of 101 years, 4 months, and 5 days. She was raised in many different communities in Nebraska, as her father was a minister, and she graduated from Geneva High School, and in 1914 she graduated from the Nebraska Wesleyan University with a BA degree, and after graduation taught near Lincoln for a year. On October 28, 1911, she was united in marriage to Glenn Haworth at Lincoln. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1949. After their marriage they moved to Aurora, where her husband was a jeweler and optometrist. In 1987 she entered the Hearthstone in York. Eva was an active member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she served as organist for 60 years. She also played for Rotary for many years and had received the Paul Harris Felloship Award. She was member of PEO and Myosotis in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers, Arthur and Robert. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Dr. John Haworth and his wife Maxine of Aurora; one sister Frances Malone of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; and nieces and nephews, including Elaine Bonham of York, and Roberta Kellogg of Friend. |
