Cometa Hedlund

Cometa Hedlund, age 91, of Aurora died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at the Hamilton Manor.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Fr. Craig Doty will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. OBITUARY: COMETA HEDLUND

Cometa Mae Hedlund, the daughter of George Frances and Maude Alice (Mintun) Cameron, was born in Stockham, Nebraska on May 19, 1910 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 30, 2002, at the age of 91 years.

She grew up in the Stockham/Aurora area and graduated from Stockham High School. Cometa worked on the county farm near Stockham and then worked in Hastings for the Air Force during World War II. She also worked for a time at the Aurora hospital.

Cometa was united in marriage to Harold T. Hedlund on March 6, 1937, at Chicago, Illinois. Two sons were born to this union, Robert and Cameron. Harold passed away on February 7, 1960. Cometa worked for Bink's Manufacturing Company in Franklin Park, Illinois as a secretary until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson Anthony Hedlund, and two brothers, Orville and Robert Cameron.

Cometa is survived by her two sons, Robert Hedlund and his wife Elizabeth of Lombard, Illinois and Cameron Hedlund and his wife Rita of Chicago, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Robert Hedlund of Geneva, Illinois, Raymond Hedlund of Washington, Mary Lou Roberts of Ottowa, Illinois, John Hedlund and Frank Hedlund both of Plainfield, Illinois; 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Joe Cameron of Ontario, Oregon.
