Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 29, 1988 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Edwin Heftie

Edwin Martin Heftie, the son of Martin and Katherina (Weise) Heftie, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, on February 7, 1903, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on October 26, 1988, at the age of 85 years, 8 months, and 9 days.

He grew up and attended school in Stockham, and then helped his father with the family farm.

On December 18, 1932, he was united in marriage to Martha Griess at Sutton.

Edwin was a bridge foreman for Hamilton County for 21 years. In 1943, he bought a farm near Stockham and began farming. In 1973, he retired from farming and moved into Aurora.

He was a member of the Emanuel Reformed Church in Sutton.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leon.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Martha of Aurora; one daughter JoAnn Lemkau of Stockham; one brother Art Heftie of Aurora; 2 sisters Eleanora Wilson and Mildred Ralls both of Brawley, California; and 3 grandchildren.
