Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday November 6, 1985 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Doniphan Cemetery in Doniphan, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Leon Heftie

Leion William Heftie, the son of Martin and Katherina Heftie, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, on September 10, 1899, and passed away at Bozeman, Montana, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 21 days.

He attended school in Nebraska, teachers college in Peru, Nebraska, and received his Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska. He taught school in Stockham, Gebo, Wyoming, Rosebud, Montana and was superintendent at Baker, Montana for 15 years and Three Forks, Montana for 9 yeas.

He married Marion Watson in Aurora, Nebraska. She passed away on February 19, 1974.

He was a member of Three Forks Masonic Lodge #73 AF & AM, and served as Worshipful Master for the year 1971, and was Secretary of the Lodge for 8 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Bawden of Madison, Wisconsin; 2 brothers Ed and Art Heftie both of Aurora; 2 sisters, Mrs. Thomas Wilson and Mrs. Mildred Ralls of Brawley, California and 2 grandchildren.
