Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 11, 1996 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the St. John’s Country Cemetery at Poole, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Martha Heider

Martha Bertha Heider, the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Wiemers) Heider, was born at Byron, Nebraska on January 27, 1903, and died at Aurora, Nebraska on July 8, 1996, at the age of 93 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

She grew up near Poole, Nebraska, where she received her education. She moved with her parents to Aurora in the late 1930’s, where she had since resided. Martha worked as a seamstress, doing sewing for others in her home, and also spent many years operating the Fairmont Ice Cream Store.

Martha was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora. She had taught Sunday School in her home for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Clara, Tilla, and Mildred, and 3 brothers, John, Walter, and Martin.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her brother Paul Heider of Gibbon, 3 sisters Amanda Gruhn of Kearney, Esther Troester of Aurora, and Lydia Fiedler of Hobbs, New Mexico, and many nieces and nephews.
