Emil Heins
Emil Heins, age 82, of Hampton, died Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 16th at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: EMIL HEINS Emil Alfred Heins, the son of John and Marie (Gerkin) Heins, was born in Ashton, Nebraska on August 10, 1920 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 13, 2002, at the age of 82. He attended school in Sherman County. Emil moved to Hamilton County after serving in the United States Army during WWII at Okinawa, Japan. Emil was united in marriage to Elaine Weehler on September 25,1949 at the Methodist Church in Loup City. Emil farmed from 1949 until he retired in 1986. They moved into Hampton after Emil retired. Emil was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where he was an active member. Emil served as chairman of the Administrative Board, Chairman of the Trustees, served on the Sanctuary Committee of the new church and was head usher for many years. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and doing puzzles. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, William and Henry and two sisters, Emma Glinsmann and infant sister, Anna. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Elaine of Hampton; daughter, Linda Heins of Hampton; son, Staff Sergeant Mark Heins and his wife Penny of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Darren and Lindsey Heins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and one sister, Dora Smith of Denver, Colorado. |
