Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 3, 1996 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery in Phillips, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Tabea Helmer

Tabea Helmer, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Hertz) Fandrich, was born in Sheridan County, near Goodrich, North Dakota, on October 16, 1913, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 30, 1995, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 14 days.

She grew up and received her education in the Goodrich area.

On July 5, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jake Helmer at Goodrich. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1995. They resided on a farm near Goodrich, until 1960, when they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1968, they moved to Phillips, where they have since resided. She has resided at the Memorial Care Center at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora since April of 1990.

Tabea was a housewife, mother, and assisted with the farming operations. She helped with the custom harvesting operation, by cooking and driving a truck, until retiring in 1977.

She was a member of the Aurora Seventh Day Adventis Church, and enjoyed reading and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Hattie Cameron; 3 brothers, Walter, Uriah “Jim” and Gustav “Gust” Fandrich, and one grand daughter Amanda Helmer.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Kenneth and his wife Lois of Mandan, North Dakota, Roger and his wife Denise of Phillips, and Dennis and his wife Laurene of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one dauthter Lora Norton of Helena, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, William Fandrich of Goodrich, North Dakota, and Eugene Fandrich of Sacrament, California; 4 sisters, Lydia Kahler, Olga Donahue, Bertha Sharp, and Elsie Saville, all of California; 9 grandchildren, Lonnie Helmer of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Russell Helmer of Grand Island, Lee Ann Joseph of Grand Island, Sherry Wheeler of Phillips, Carmen Helmer of Polson, Montana, Chris Norton, Travis Norton, and Ryan Norton all of Helena, Oklahoma, and Ashley Helmer of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and 9 great great grandchildren.
