Shirley HemmingsenFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 28, 1984 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Shirley A. Hemmingsen Shirley Ann Hemmingsen, the daughter of Clayton and Nola Ranier Cochran, was born at Taylor, Nebraska, on May 10, 1927. Her death occurred at Morris, Illinois, on July 24, 1984, at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 4 days. As a small girl, her family moved to Aurora, where she spent most of her childhood and received her education, graduating from Aurora High School with the class of 1945. On August 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leland Hemmingsen at Aurora. They resided in Grand Island, returning to Aurora in 1952. In 1955 they moved to Mazon, Illinois. In Mazon, she was Secretary to the Schools there for 15 years. In 1973 they moved to Moline, Illinois, where they were residing at the time of her husband’s death on June 30, 1983. After his death she moved to Morris, Illinois, to be near her son. Mrs. Hemmingsen was a member of the United Methodist Faith. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Daniel of Morris, Illinois; her mother Mrs. Nola Bryan of Mazon, Illinois; one brother, Richard Cochran of Morris, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Iris Halstead of Seattle, Washington and Mrs. Betty Casteel of Lexington, Nebraska and other relatives and many close friends. |
