Gordon HendersonFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 6, 1987 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Gordon “Bill” Henderson Gordon S. “Bill” Henderson, the son of Hubert and Laura (Paves) Henderson, was born at Pottsboro, Texas, on November 13, 1916, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on June 4, 1987, at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 1 day. He received his education and lived in Texas for 31 years. On September 8, 1950, he was united in marriage to Azelda St. Pierre, at Lake Andes, South Dakota. “Bill” was a crane operator in the construction business, and his work took him to Kansas, Illinois, South Dakota, and he has resided in Hampton since 1960. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, from July 24, 1945 to December 9, 1945. He was a girl’s baseball coach and enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, William. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Azelda; 3 sons, LeRoy of Waco, Texas, H.H. “Bud” of Sherman, Texas, and Jerry of Prosper, Texas; 3 daughters, Sandra VanWormer of Aurora, Kathy Salazar of Hayden, Colorado, and Debra Kliewer of Hampton. One sister, Mary Bell Brotherton of Denison, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. |
