Anna Henthorne

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 11, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Anna Henthorne

Anna Jean Henthorne, the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Hook) Elliott, was born at Eugene, Oregon on January 5, 1925 and died at her home at Sherman Lake, Nebraska on February 6, 1997 at the age of 72 years, 1 month, and 1 day.

She grew up in Eugene, Oregon where she graduated from high school, and then attended the University of Oregon. She worked for Western Union as a Teletype Operator, and her job took her to many places on the Pacific Coast.

On December 1, 1945, she was united in marriage to John Henthorne at Vancouver, Washington. They moved to Hamilton County, Nebraska where they farmed, first near Hampton and then north of Aurora. They retired to Sherman Lake near Loup City in 1977.

When in Aurora, Anna was an active member of St. Mary’s Church and the Altar Society. St. Joseph’s was her church home in Loup City, and again was active in church and Altar Socitey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Chuck.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband John, 3 sons, John of Evergreen, Colorado, Chuck of Westminster, Colorado, and Bob and his wife JoAnn of Papillion, Nebraska; one sister, Eunice Coen of Eugene, Oregon, and 5 grandchildren, Jonathan, Carrie, Jessica, Dorothy, and Jordan Henthorne.
