Thomas Kermit Hermansen
Thomas Kermit Hermansen, age 79, of Cassville, Missouri, died Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Cassville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 18th at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Rev. Chris Kester Beyer will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. OBITUARY: THOMAS KERMIT HERMANSEN Thomas Kermit Hermansen, the son of Thomas Sigvardt and Clara Marie (Rasmussen) Hermansen, was born in Howard County, Nebraska on November 25, 1931 and passed away at Cassville, Missouri on August 13, 2011 at the age of 79. Kermit grew up in Texas and Nebraska. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1949. Following his graduation he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956. Following his discharge he attended Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa. Kermit was united in marriage to Charlene Ann Ross on June 30, 1957 at Des Moines, Iowa. After their marriage they moved to Colorado where he attended Trinidad College where he earned his nursing degree. Kermit and Charlene later owned and operated various businesses including a diner, nursing homes, farms, grocery store and a café in various states in the Midwest. He enjoyed life on the farm, traveling and his family and friends. Kermit was a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rex Hermansen and sisters Selma Sorensen, Alpha Christensen and Shirley Andersen. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlene Hermansen of Cassville, Missouri; sons, Lance (Scherry) Hermansen of Grand Island, Wade (Christy) Hermansen of Cassville, Missouri and James (Diane) Oldham of Monett, Missouri; daughters, Shelley Hermansen Crowther of Pierce City, Missouri, Terri Hermansen and David George of Pierce City, Missouri and Tracie (Rick) Hermansen Chochon of Columbus; grandchildren, Kristen Hermansen-Ryan, Jessica Brondel, Allyn Komorowski, Thomas Hermansen, Leslie Oldham, Clint Crowther, Lacy Crowther, Colt Crowther, Shane George, Hannah George, Bryan Chochon, David Chochon, Aaron Chochon, Christopher Chochon, Eric Chochon, Clara Hermansen, Andrew Hermansen and Olivia Hermansen; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Leif Hermansen; sister, Barbara Handrup and several nieces and nephews. |
