Robert Hewitt

Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Saturday, April 30, 1994 at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie, Kansas. A short service was held at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Interment was held in the York Cemetery in York, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Robert Glenn Hewitt

Robert Glenn Hewitt, age 88, of Aurora, Nebraska died Thursday, April 28, 1994 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Osawatomie, Kansas.

He was born September 5, 1905 near New Lancaster in Miami County, Kansas. He was the fourth of five children born to William Strodad and Annie Rebecca Mills Hewitt. He grew up and attended school at New Lancaster.

He was united in marriage in December of 1924 to Neva Long at Paola, Kansas. They became the parents of three children. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1942.

He worked as City Clerk in Osawatomie in the mid ‘30s. In the late ‘30s he worked as a Co-op Elevator Manager in Osawatomie. He then moved to Nebraska where he served as Co-op Elevator Manager at Pauline, Nebsraska and then at Bradshaw, Nebraska. During the ‘60s he worked for Equity Grain Company as a grain buyer.

He was married in 1942 to Hilda Murdock. They made their home in Paulin and Bradshaw, Nebraska. Hilda died in 1960.

He was married in 1960 in Nebraska to Coila Johnson. They made their home in Aurora, Nebraska. Coila died in 1989.

He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two brothers, one sister, one son and one daughter.

He is survived by on daughter Joan Cook of Osawatomie, Kansas; one sister Vera Scrogham of Widnsor, Missouri; three grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren; A step-son Charles Haase, and a step-daughter Lorene Cook, both of Osawatomie, Kansas.
