Nina Hielen
Nina Hielen, age 87, of Lincoln, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Autumn House in Lincoln. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 13th at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: NINA HIELEN Nina Mae Hielen, the daughter of Shelton Baily and Sophronia (Dantzler) Davis, was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on January 12, 1925 and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 9, 2012, at the age of 87. Nina grew up in South Carolina. On July 6, 1942, she was united in marriage to John Hielen at Columbia, South Carolina. After John’s discharge from the Army, they lived in Columbia until 1950, when they moved to Nebraska. They lived in Hamilton County and since 1956 they resided near Aurora. John passed away on February 26, 1977. Nina worked in Memorial Hospital kitchen for almost 25 years, retiring in 1992. In 2002, Nina moved to Lincoln to be closer to her daughters, due to health reasons. Nina had been a member of the Presbyterian U.C.C. in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Michael Duane and sister, Dorothy. Those left to cherish her memory are her five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Grant and Mrs. Pam Leak both of Lincoln; Mrs. Francie (Del) Larsen of Albuquerque, NM, Mrs. Dorothea (Chris) McMeen and Virginia Hielen both of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. |
