Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Thursday, May 28, 1992 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Larry Higby
Larry Eugene Higby, the son of Vernon and Alice (Christensen) Higby, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 22, 1951, and died at Hastings, Nebraska, on May 24, 1992, following an 8 year battle with cancer, at the age of 41 years, 3 months, and 2 days.
His early years were spent in Marquette, Nebraska, where he attended school through the 6th grade, and then the family moved to Aurora, where he completed his schooling, graduating from Aurora High School in 1969.
He attended Kearney State College for one year, and then was employed by the Holtzen Processing Plant in Aurora until August of 1973, when he began working at Dickís Service as a mechanic until April of 1985, when he returned to Kearney State College, where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Arts in 1987.
In September of 1987 he was employed as an Industrial Arts Instructor in the high school at Oregon, Missouri, where he has since been employed.
Larry was baptized in St. Johnís Lutheran Church at Kronborg, and in 1965 he transferred his membership to the Aurora United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his parents, Vernon and Alice Higby of Aurora; 3 sisters, Bonnie Nicholaus and Judy Clark, both of Hampton, and Sherry Otto of Grand Island.
