Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 21, 1995 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Gerald Higgins

Gerald Huber Higgins, the son of Hubert and Iva Mae (Graham) Higgins, was born at Raymond, Nebraska, on November 8, 1918, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 17, 1995, at the age of 76 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

He grew up at Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School.

On February 25, 1940, he was united in marriage to Ethel Aucock at Raymond. After their marriage they farmed in Illinois for several years, then returned to Raymond, where they farmed before moving to a farm near Giltner in 1950. In 1984, they moved to Aurora. Ethel preceded him in death on October 4, 1992.

Gerald was a member of the United Methodist Church, and was associated with the Masonic Lodge in Giltner and Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers, Lurton and one in infancy.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 2 sons, Jerry of Olathe, Kansas, and Clayton of Giltner; one sister Avis Brinkham of Beatrice; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
