Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 22, 1987 at Roper & Sons Mortuary in Lincoln, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Raymond Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Iva Higgins

Iva Mae Higgins, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Griffith) Graham, was born November 14, 1893, in Raymond, Nebraska, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 19, 1987, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 5 days.

On February 7, 1917, she was united in marriage to Hubert Higgins, and they resided on the Higgins family farm near Raymond, Nebraska. In 1940 they moved to Illinois for 6 years. During World War II, she worked at the Anacorda Communication Factory in Sycamore, Illinois. They then moved back to Nebraska, where they continued to live. In 1982 Hubert and Iva celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Hubert preceded Iva in death on April 18, 1985.

At the time of her death Iva was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. In earlier years she had served her church as pianist. She had also worked as a telephone operator and was a member of the Raymond Grange.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are one son Gerald of Aurora; one daughter Avis Brinkman of Beatrice; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
