Phyllis HodsonFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 10, 1990 at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery. OBITUARY: Phyllis Hodson Phyllis Ruth Hodson, the daughter of Charles and Etta (Miller) Phelps, was born at Raymond, Kansas, on June 14, 1919, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on December 6, 1990, at the age of 71 years, 5 months, and 22 days. She grew up and attended country school at Ulysses, Kansas. On December 10, 1929, she was united in marriage to Leon Hodson, at Ulysses. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Labor Day, 1989. After their marriage they lived in Kearney, County, Kansas, and in 1953, they moved to Loup County, Nebraska, where they ranched. In 1976, they semi-retired, and moved to Phillips, Nebraska. Phyllis was a member of the Methodist Church, and had been a member of the Kent Korner Club at Taylor, and belonged to the Kensington Club, and the senior citizens in Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Edgar Phelps. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Leon of Phillips; one son Arlin of Olatha, Kansas; 2 daughters, Reba Duckett of Malcom and Loretta Bykerk of Phillips; one brother Jeff Phelps of Ulysses, Kansas, one sister, Dorothy Egbert of Severy, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. |
