Roma Hoegh
Roma Hoegh, age 75, of Aurora, died Wednesday morning, February 4, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Regional Health Center in Lincoln. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 7th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Rev. Pam Ciulla will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: ROMA HOEGH Roma Loine Hoegh, the daughter of Fred A. and Edna Alice (Jacobs) Lewis, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on March 20, 1928 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 4, 2004, at the age of 75. She grew up near Murphy, Nebraska. Roma attended Country School District #64 and then graduated from Aurora High School in 1945. Roma worked at Rexall Drug Store for three years following graduation. Roma was united in marriage to Dale Eugene Hoegh on June 20, 1948 at her Dad’s home in Aurora. They lived on a farm northeast of Aurora for 34 years, until 1982 when they moved to Aurora. Roma worked at various business places in town, the last being 10 years at the Ben Franklin Store. She loved plants, flowers, music and most of all her family, husband and grandchildren. Roma loved to attend all the ball games, programs and recitals that her grandchildren were in. She was a Hospital Auxiliary member since 1980. Roma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church since 1947 and the Church Choir since 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Verla Perry, Wilma Gengenbach, Carol Ernst and Fay Williamson. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Dale of Aurora; three sons, Rick Hoegh and Denese Hiebner of Hampton, Jerry (Tricia) Hoegh of Aurora and Tony (Jan) Hoegh of Hampton; one daughter, Peg (Harlan) Schafer of Aurora; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters. She is also survived by three brothers-in-law, Lester Williamson, George Gengenbach and Bob Ernst. |
