Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 4, 1996 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Dorothy Hohnstein

Dorothy M. Hohnstein, the daughter of John and Nellie (Boag) Miller, was born July 3, 1917, at Stockham, Nebraska, and died January 1, 1996, at Grand Island, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

She grew up in the Stockham area, and graduated from Aurora High School.

On March 8, 1939, she was united in marriage to Lester Hohnstein, at Pasadena, California. They resided in California for a short time, and then moved to Giltner, Nebraska, where they resided until they moved to Hastings in 1964. Following the death of her husband on October 29, 1982, she moved to Aurora, and later entered a care home in Grand Island.

Dorothy was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, Maurice, Andrew, Grant, Bob, and Paul Miller, a sister Catherine Poppe, and an infant sister May Ellen.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Richard of Grand Island, and Dan of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter Jane Hutfles of Omaha; one sister Betty Itts of Lakewood, California; 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
