Russell Holloway

Russell Holloway, age 91, of Aurora, died Saturday night, December 8, 2001, at Memorial Long Term Care.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: RUSSELL HOLLOWAY

Russell H. Holloway, the son of William Orville and Emma Caroline (Hansen) Holloway, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on October 16, 1910 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 8, 2001, at the age of 91 years.

He grew up in Hamilton County and attended Country School through the 8th grade.

Russell was united in marriage to Mildred Mae Christenson February 18, 1934 at Aurora. Russell farmed all of his life. They had a farm northwest of Aurora. Mildred passed away on January 27, 1966.

On February 1, 1968, Russell was united in marriage to Emma Darlene Christenson Wertz. They remained on the farm until they retired and moved to Aurora in 1988.

Russell was a member of the United Methodist Church, past member of the School Board and once served on the election board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, brother, Maurice, son-in-law, Jerry Basore and granddaughter, Paula Basore.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Emma Darlene of Aurora; daughter, Louise Basore of Hutchinson, Kansas; step-son, Jerry Wertz and his wife Ruth of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother, Roy Holloway of Aurora and two sisters, Mae Sawyer of Grand Island and Eunice Barber of Carpinteria, California.
