Valetta HollowayFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 21, 1992 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Valetta Holloway Valetta Grace Holloway, the daughter of Vermil and Myrtle (Evans) Marvel, was born near Murphy, Nebraska, on December 12, 1913, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 18, 1992, at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 6 days. Valetta’s mother died when she was five years old, and her grandparents Grant and Ida Evans raised her, in the Murphy area, along with her uncle, Clifton Evans. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1932. On February 14, 1934, she was united in marriage to Roy Wilbur Holloway at the Methodist Church in Central City, Nebraska. They farmed at 2 different farms south of Aurora, and moved into Aurora in 1974. Valetta was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora, and belonged to the A.A.R.P., and Verona Literary Club. She was baptized and was a member and pianist at the Prairie Gem Church at one time, had been a 4-H leader and had served on the Election Board for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one half brother, and a grandson, Todd William Holloway. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Roy; 3 sons, William, and his wife Betty of Grand Island, Robert, and his wife Karen of Aurora, and Wilbur, and his wife Joyce of Dunning, Nebraska; 2 daughters, Myrtle, and her husband Melvin Hinrichs of Omaha and Mamie, and her husband Jerry Salmon of Geneva, Nebraska; 1 half sister, Rojean Standley of California; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, an uncle, Clifton Evans of Aurora, an aunt, Gladys Agan of Lebanon, Missouri, and other relatives and friends. |
