Larry Holtzen

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 13, 1988 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Larry Holtzen

Larry Lee Holtzen, the son of Herman and Ellen (Carpenter) Holtzen, was born February 4, 1939, at Hampton, Nebraska, and passed away at his home south of Aurora, Nebraska, on January 10, 1988, at the age of 48 years, 11 months, and 6 days.

He attended country school, and then Aurora Schools, graduating with the class of 1958. From 1958 to 1960 he served in the U.S. Army, upon his discharge he began farming, and for the past 13 years has lived on the present farm.

On March 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sharon Harter at Aurora.

Larry was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and had served on the building committee. He had attended the Stockham Community Church for the last 6 years. He had also served on the Extension Board, the 4-H Council, and was a longtime 4-H leader. He loved carpentry and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Holtzen.

Those who remain to cherish his memory, are his wife Sharon; 3 sons, Brad of Grand Island, Rick of Omaha, and Tom of Lincoln; 4 brothers, Gerald of Aurora, Dennis of Inavale, Joe of McKinney, Texas, and Jim of Aurora; one sister Ilene Schuett of Chapman; his mother Ellen Holtzen of Aurora; and many other relatives and close friends.
