Evelyn Hood

Evelyn Hood, age 67, formerly of Aurora, died Sunday night, April 4, 2004, at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 7th at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul at 1:30. There will be viewing one hour prior to service time. There will be no visitation. OBITUARY: EVELYN HOOD

Evelyn J. Hood, the daughter of George Earl and Bertha Mary (Kutschara) Mills, was born in Hay Springs, Nebraska on April 4, 1937 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 4, 2004, at the age of 67.

Evelyn went to school from kindergarten to her junior year in Hay Springs. She attended her senior year in Wolbach, where she graduated in 1954.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Karol Lee Hood on May 25, 1954 at Wolbach Methodist Church. They had three children: Karol Randy, Georgea Lea and Lori Evelyn. They started their married life farming in Wolbach from May 1954 till August 1954. During her life, Evelyn worked for Brandeis, Farmers Co-op, Boy Scouts of America, J & S Sales-Remington Rand; Wood River Elementary and Wood River Country Club. Evelyn and her husband retired in Phillips. Karol passed away on November 4, 1993. In 2001, Evelyn moved to Lincoln.

She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She served a term as the UMW President, was a member of the Deborah Circle. Also served as a member of the Helping Hands and Stephen Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Karol Lee; her sister, Laura Ann and three brothers, Leo George, Earl Theodore and Glen Ervin.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, K. Randy (Renee) of Omaha, Georgea Lea of Grand Island and Lori Evelyn of Lincoln and three grandchildren, Joshua Kaleb of Arapahoe, Kasia Karolea and Kenyon Paul both of Omaha.
