Karol Hood

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 8, 1993 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Karol Lee Hood

Karol Lee Hood, the son of General Lee and Neoma Caroline (Sherman) Hood, was born at Enders (Imperial), Nebraska, on February 1, 1929, and died at Phillips, Nebraska, on November 4, 1993 at the age of 64.

Karol graduated from Wolbach High School in May of 1947. Karol farmed from January 1948 till April 1951. He was inducted into the Army on May 5, 1951 at Sheridan, Illinois. He served in the 304th Signal Operations Battalion in Korea. He received for bronze stars and was honorably discharged on April 21, 1953.

On May 25, 1954 Karol married Evelyn J. Mills at Wolbach Methodist Church. They had three children: Karol Randy, Georgea Lea, and Lori Evelyn.

They started their marriage life farming in Wolbach from May 1954 till August 1954. Karol then worked for Grand Island Fire Department from August 1954 till May 1955; Security Mutual in Ansley, NE form May 1955 till December 1955, Wilson Packing in Omaha, NE from December 1955 till March 1959, Cudahy Packing in Omaha, NE from March 1959 till August 1965, U.S. Homes from August 1965 till January 1966; and Ford New Holland from August 1966 until he retired in January 1991.

Karol was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn. Their three children K. Randy of Lee’s Summit, MO; Georgea Lea of Phillips, NE, and Lori Evelyn of Lincoln, NE. One grandson, Joshua Kaleb of Phillips, NE. One daughter-in-law Renee of Lee’s Summit, MO. Six sisters and two brothers Mary Grace (Mrs. Sherman W. Harris) of Gordon, NE, Harvey of Arlington, WA; Kelly (Mrs. Dale Williams) of Hampton, NE, Jeannie (Mrs. Robert Mathis) of Gordon, NE, Martha (Mrs. Robert E. Hall) of Omaha, NE, Leota (Mrs. Haskell Frandsen) of Laughlin, NV Leora (Mrs. Richard Denison) of Tuthill, SD and Ernest of Neola, Iowa. And numerous nieces and nephews.
