Jon Hope
Jon Hope, age 52, of Aurora died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 16th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Dr. F. Cole Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 P.M. Tuesday at Aurora United Methodist Church, 1104 A Street. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the U.N.M.C. Eppley Cancer Center for Research or the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department. OBITUARY: JON HOPE Jon Carl Hope, the son of Robert A. and Evelyn L. (Damme) Hope, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on September 25, 1956 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 12, 2009, at the age of 52. Jon grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1975. He graduated from Southeast Community College at Milford in 1977 in home construction. On September 22, 1978, he was united in marriage to Terri Koozer in Aurora. Jon worked building custom homes for Fred Heiden of Hampton and Jim Holtzen of Aurora before joining the family business in 1978. Jon was a Cub Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, Chamber Member, Aurora Area Chamber and Development Member, current President of Aurora Development Corporation, Aurora Planning Commission, served on various church committees and was a 20 year member of the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department. Jon loved hunting, fishing and golfing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Robert & Evelyn Hope; brother, Gordon Hope, and a stillborn brother. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Terri of Aurora; children, Justin & Meghan of Omaha, Jamie of Omaha, Jeremy & Lisa of Aurora and Joel of Aurora; granddogs, Ari & Beau; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Lynn & Suzann Koozer of Aurora; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Doug & Sheri Koozer of Eagle; sister, Mrs. Nancy (Dale) Sallans of Platte, South Dakota; brother Alan Hope of Grand Island and Aunts, Uncles & Cousins. |
