Donald Hosier

Donald Hosier, age 91, of Grand Island, (formerly of Aurora), died Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 3rd at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Pastor Jocelyn Tupper will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 4 –7. OBITUARY: DONALD HOSIER

Donald Elwood Hosier, the son of Ira and Anna (Mersch) Hosier, was born on Thursday, February 21, 1918, near Harvard, Nebraska and died in Grand Island, Nebraska on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 9 days.

Don married Inez M. Druba, daughter of John and Pearl (Hedges) Druba, on September 18, 1937 in Aurora, Nebraska. They farmed near Giltner. Don and Inez celebrated their 72nd Wedding Anniversary on September 18, 2009.

Don was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and Dale Hosier, and one grandson, Timothy Hosier.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Inez Hosier of Grand Island; four children, Darrell (Judy) Hosier of Giltner, June (Jim) Bowers, Cheryl (Bill) Roach and David (Kathy) Hosier all of Grand Island. Don is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
