Clyde HurleyFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 12, 1996 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery in Giltner, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Clyde Hurley Clyde William Hurley, the son of John and Elizabeth (Moore) Hurley, was born at Milan, Missouri on September 3, 1915, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on December 9, 1996, at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 6 days. As a young boy the family moved to the Grand Island area, where he attended school. He worked in the carpenter trade for several years, and was employed by Sothman Lumber Company for 32 years. He then began working for Golden Age Village for 19 years. He was united in marriage to Coretta Barnes in Grand Island. For many years he cared for his very dear friend and companion, Dorothy Woodward, in her home in Grand Island. He was a member of the Methodist Faith, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enyoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Gary Hurley, and his friend Dorothy Woodward. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Victor of Oceanside, California, 2 brothers, Robert and Leroy both of Grand Island; 3 sisters, Josephine Hagadorn of Grand Island, Betty Bailey of Humble, Texas, and Charlene Ault of Grand Island. A daughter-in-law Marlene Hurley of Grand Island, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. |
