Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 23, 1991 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Fern Hutchinson

Fern Atlanta (Martin) Hutchinson, the daughter of Alfred and Jenny (Watt) Hill, was born in Colfax County, Nebraska, on May 19, 1895, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 21, 1991, at the age of 95 years, 9 months, and 2 days.

She grew up in the Albion vicinity, and attended country schools, and later was a school teacher.

On December 25, 1917, she was united in marriage to Charles Martin at Albion, and they resided in Boone County, and in 1938, they came to Aurora. Her husband was involved in farm management, which was sold to Jones Agency after his death. Charles preceded her in death on January 27, 1964.

On June 2, 1976, she married Ivan Hutchinson, the preceded her in death on February 5, 1978.

Fern was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and was active in church circles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and one daughter Cleda Giffin.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son-in-law, Dr. Herbert Giffin of Washington D.C.; one sister Gladys Martin of Albion; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Charles Giffin of Tucson, Arizona, Robert Giffin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Claire Shumaker of Annadale, Virginia, and Arlene Bartelmes, of Ellicot City, Marland; 7 great grandsons, and nephews, Lester and Gary Martin and their families in Nebraska.
