Joe Hutsell

Joe D. Hutsell, age 85, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, died Saturday morning, September 22, 2001, at Bryan/LGH West in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. George E. Damm will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: JOE HUTSELL

Joe David Hutsell, the son of Sanford and Josephine (White) Hutsell, was born at Aurora, Nebraska on July 12, 1916 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 22, 2001, at the age of 85 years.

Joe attended school in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School. He attended college for a year, then worked for awhile before entering the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in the Pacific and after his discharge in California in 1945, he remained there for several years. Joe returned to Nebraska and began farming near Hampton in 1949.

Joe was united in marriage to Esther Klute on February 12, 1950, at Hampton. He retired from farming in 1979 and they moved to Aurora.

Joe was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. He had been a member of the Hampton Legion and the VFW in Aurora.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cliff and Eugene, two sisters, Berdeen and Margaret, and a son, Steven.

Joe is survived by his wife, Esther of Aurora; two sons, Dave and his wife Sheryl of Hampton and Robert and his wife Romanda of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Moore of Rancho Bernardo, California and Janet Baker of Oakland, Nebraska; and 9 grandchildren.
