Asta Ibsen

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 29, 1993 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Asta Ibsen

Asta Ibsen, the daughter of Jens and Marie (Rodholm) Juhl, was born in Iowa, on April 7, 1908, and died at her daughter’s home in Burmingham, Alabama, on April 25, 1993, at the age of 85 years, and 18 days.

She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, and was a school teacher for 25 years in Calmus and Clinton, Iowa, and Viborg, South Dakota. She was also an accomplished pianist and organist.

On September 8, 1935, she was united in marriage to Rev. Harald Ibsen at Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1972. They served congregations in Oakland, California, Lake Benton, Minnesota, Kimbalton, Iowa, Viborg, South Dakota, and Kronborg, Nebraska. After her husband’s death she resided in Central City and Grand Island.

Asta was a long time member of the Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant son Paul.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son David of Fullerton, California; 2 daughters, Joy Ibsen of Evanston, Illinois, and Karma Ibsen of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother Leif Juhl of Elkhart, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
