Ruth Jackson
Ruth Jackson, age 90, of Aurora died Thursday afternoon, November 1, 2001, at Hamilton Manor. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday at the Aurora Cemetery. Rev. Seth L. Leypoldt will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Aurora United Methodist Church or the Hamilton Community Foundation. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: RUTH JACKSON Ruth Grace Jackson, the daughter of George and Ruby (Palmer) Tyler, was born in Elm Creek, Nebraska on October 21, 1911 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 1, 2001, at the age of 90 years. She grew up in Elm Creek and graduated from Elm Creek High School in 1928. She attended college at Kearney State and also Colorado State in Greely, Colorado. Ruth taught school in Nebraska and Colorado for several years. While teaching in Steam Boat Springs, Colorado she met her husband Jesse L. Jackson, then they were united in marriage on June 3, 1940 at North Platte. They moved Aurora in 1954, where they ran Modern Motel. Jesse passed away on May 11, 1993. Ruth was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She was preceded her in death by her parents, husband, a brother and two sisters. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Vauna Fort of Aurora and Valerie (Paul) Croxton of San Jaun Capistrano, California, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. |
