Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 15, 1993 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Jesse L. Jackson

Jesse L. Jackson, the son of Sylvester and Pearl (Southard) Jackson, was born at Adams, Nebraska, on June 3, 1904, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 11, 1993, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 8 days.

He attended school in Adams, and in 1923 he moved to Springview, Nebraska, and later to Sterling, Colorado, where he was a rancher.

In 1940, he moved to North Platte, Nebraska, where he married Ruth Tyler on June 3, 1940. While residing in North Platte, he drove a truck for Denver-Chicago and Watson Brothers Trucking.

In 1954, they moved to Aurora, where they ran Modern Motel, and he also worked as a carpenter. After he retired, he enjoyed gardening and sharing his bounty with others.

Jesse was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 6 sisters.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth of Aurora; 2 daughters, Valerie Croxton of San Juan Capistrano, California, and Vauna Fort of Aurora; one brother, Sylvester Jackson of California, and 5 grandchildren.
