Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 4, 1988 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Cecil Jacobs

Orlando Cecil Jacobs, the son of Oscar and Ella (Wasson) Jacobs, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on January 23, 1895, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 1, 1988, at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 7 days.

He grew up and attended District #4, in Hamilton County.

On June 23, 1920, he was united in marriage to Gladys Brandt, at her parent’s home at Murphy, Nebraska.

They farmed 5 ½ miles west of Aurora, until 1960, when they moved into Aurora. In 1979, they entered the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Cecil was a member of the Christian Church in Aurora, where he had served as a deacon, and also helped with the building committee. He had also played in the church orchestra, and had played with the Hamilton County Band.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Mrs. Fred Lewis and one brother, Merle Jacobs.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Gladys; 2 sons, Dwain and Walter both of Phillips; one daughter Eula Hagemeister of Golden, Colorado; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
